happy new year! i saw on a couple of blogs that people are doing a year in review post. i was hoping to snag a template of some kind from one of these blogs, but they didn't fit into my year. so, i'll give you the high lights that i remember (the good and the bad). these will be out of order, sorry.
* february--my sister would have celebrated her 29th birthday. alex and i took her flowers.
* april--attended angelica's galveston wedding reception. had a blast and too much sangria.
* april--the guy i was seeing decided one day to just stop calling. it wasn't like i was in love with him or anything, but it's a shitty thing to do to someone. he should have had the balls to say something.
* may--celebrated my 35th birthday with a "pretty in pink" party. i had a wonderful time surrounded by wonderful people.
* july--celebrated a year of working at the bra/panty store. even got a certificate from the company.
*all year--struggled with money, jobs, and so forth.
* july--met M at a party. :)
* may--went to an astros game with chris and got badly sun-burned. the astros didn't even win. :(
* november--took on the responsibility of helping my mom with thanksgiving dinner. still not so sure about this role.
* april-july--had a series of bad experiences in the dating world. A LOT of men are terrible. i'm lucky i met M.
* december--went on the vacation of a life time: a caribbean cruise! thanks M for the great time and wonderful memories! :)
* september--alex turned 9. his last year in single digits. for some reason, this birthday really bothered me. he's getting old (which in turn means i'm getting old).
* july-december---enjoyed many fun dates with M at many fabulous places in houston. i am SO lucky! :)
* july--said goodbye to a great friend who moved to austin. i helped her with all her moving and the adventures with the uhaul truck. it was hard work, but i'm glad i got to spend the time with her. btw, she is very happy in austin, and i'm glad she is doing what makes her happy.
* june--my ex-husband had a baby, making alex a big brother. strange situation for me, but alex loves being a big brother.
* july--attended an art class and made several collages. it was fun and a great way to express myself in a different medium.
* november--attemped NaNoWriMo again. burnt out at 11,000 words, but i'm proud of myself for trying and making it that far.
* june (i think)--wrote my 200th blog.
* april--had my sister's unveiling (ceremony/service where her headstone is put into place). this was the point where i realized that she was really gone (although i still have my days where i don't believe it). i realized at this point that i would never be an aunt because i no longer had a sister. :(
what does 2012 have in store for me? well it's mostly a mystery, but i do know a few things:
* M took the job in australia and leaves this week. i'm hoping i can make it through this w/o slipping into a major depression for 3 months. i'll let you know how it goes.
* i'm searching for a new job (again). hoping to find something in the non-profit world. even playing around with going back to school to get a degree in something to do with healthcare/medical field.
* my sister's 30th birthday will come in february. sad she isn't here for a big party.
* i'll turn 36 and will probably do something super fun to celebrate it.
