when i was little i used to play pretend a lot. i loved playing with my barbies. i had a whole world created with different families and drama. my sister and i would also play "house" and "school". we (mostly me) created a whole world outside of reality where we spent lots of time. i never told anyone about this (until now), especially my parents.
flash forward to 2012...
alex has created a whole world where he is married to princess peach (princess from mario brothers games) and has two sons, mario and lugi. he is always updating me on what is happening. they finally had a wedding. they went on a honeymoon. the boys (mario and lugi) are doing this, that, or the other. it reminds me kinda of what i did as a kid. the only difference is my mom never knew about it.
so, why am i concerned? i always thought (after some psychology classes) that i created this alternate reality because it was so much better than my "real world". things were rough growing up and i wanted to escape them to a happier place. so is alex just being a typical child with an imagination or is his reality totally sucky and he is trying to escape? maybe he tells me about it because he has no one else to tell. i had my sister to play with. i'm his only company. i don't know what to think of this...

All kids pretent sometimes. Shows creativity. Don't worry.

My sister & I had a great childhood and we played "pretend" school, house, barbies, etc - it's just part of a child's imagination developing. Every child does it. I agree that some do it more than others but I think that usually determines "artistic" people from more "logical" people. I certainly don't think you have anything to worry about.
