what the f**k is wrong with people? OR the day i took alex to the rodeo

i hope the title of the blog doesn't offend--i do have a disclaimer that pops up before you can enter my blog.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

first a little background: i have been taking alex to the livestock show at the houston rodeo since 2003. he was around 5 or 6 months old the first time he went. the tradition started then. i took his picture with Miss Moo (the mascot of Destination Agventure--a person in a cow costume). he has gone each year since then to have his picture with Miss Moo. i tell him that he'll be 16 and standing next to Miss Moo (right now he thinks that cool).

i usually take him during the week to avoid the big weekend crowd. this year we had problems with money and my work schedule. so we finally got there today (a saturday and the second to last day of the rodeo). so i was expecting things to be crowded and there to be long lines for stop. i wasn't expecting for most of the people at the rodeo today to have no fucking manners what-so-ever!

people see you walking toward something and they cut in front of you. not to get your spot, but to get to where they want to go. they don't even say, "excuse me."

when it was time to see Miss Moo for our yearly photo, we were the first ones there. she was due to come out at 2:30 PM and it was a few minutes before so we waited in front. people started to form a line BEHIND us (which was cool). Miss Moo came out and alex and i were excited. we were the first ones to get a picture, and she hugged alex and gave him a high five (i would post the picture here, but i can't find the camera cord). anyway, as we were walking away from Miss Moo, these people who obviously weren't in line, pushed their children to get up there, so they could get a picture with Miss Moo. wtf? maybe they were blind and couldn't see the line, but i think they were just rude people!

we were in line to see the babies that have been born during the rodeo. they have calfs, piglets, and sheep. this is one of my favorite parts! i fell in love with the baby animals ever since i saw a calf being born a few years ago. so we are in this long line and people just cut up ahead of us and we never move. we got to see a total of two mama cows with their babies and then i was like "fuck this!" and pulled alex out of line (don't worry--the bad language was said in my head, alex didn't hear it).

so i wonder, why do people think their kids are more important than mine? what about teaching a child patience and to wait their turn. that's real life (well not for all--there were adults without children cutting in other places)! why do people feel they are so important? i know i'm one of the most impatient people on the planet. i hate waiting! i also know, i've had the "it's all about me attitude". but what about manners? what about manners? what about teaching your child(ren) how to behave and act right?

like i said in the beginning, what the fuck is wrong with people???? (if you know--feel free to clue me in so i'll have less expectations for other members of the human race)
