we moved june 2nd. we had drama with the electric company and couldn't stay here for two nites. it sucked! finally by friday june 4th, everything was working. well, almost everything. i couldn't get my wireless router to work and i couldn't get anyone to help me. it was out of warranty and linksys wouldn't help me. at&t wouldn't help me because they don't deal with 3rd party equipment. i finally had to go out and buy another router (netgear this time) to get it to work. even that was complicated because for some reason the install CD wouldn't work and i had to figure my way around it. but i am now very happily typing this from my laptop on the couch (my favorite place to be). i am loving the house, and i'm so excited to have all the space. i am keeping it clean. i still need to unpack some boxes and put the bed together in the extra room, but it is all coming together nicely.
i had dental surgery last friday (june 11th). the dentist put the posts in the for my implants. the surgery went well and i felt pretty good until sunday. sunday was when i woke up from a nap and had a numb chin and lip. i went to see the dentist on monday and he is not sure what caused the numbness. he said it could last a couple of months. he also said that he doesn't know if it's permanent or not. it's a wait and see thing. i totally hate it--it's annoying. i'm not at the point of drooling or anything, but i can tell that i'm numb. it's not a fun feeling. also sunday, the pain started. my gums and inside my cheeks are sore. i'm trying not to complain and call the doctor and whine. plus i don't think there is anything he can do for me. so, i'm just dealing with it. i can't believe i have one more surgery to go. i am not looking forward to anymore mouth stuff--it sucks!
i took alex to the eye doctor today. she said that he needed to go ahead and have the eye surgery. she's the same doctor that did mine in 1980. she said that his lids interfere with his field of vision and that it should be correct. after telling me that, she said that she is retiring in a couple of months and doesn't feel right doing the surgery and then handing him off. she recommended another doctor, and we go tomorrow. she also mentioned that she doesn't think insurance will cover it because they look at it as a cosmetic procedure. i'm really hoping the insurance will cover it because he needs to have it done. he'll look better, and in the long run, feel better with his lids lifted up.
i may have a date tomorrow nite. i haven't been interested in dating since my sister died. i put all that on hold because it didn't seem to matter anymore. i am no longer paying for any dating sites. i did decide that i've been single about a year and would really like to have someone in my life. i posted an ad on craigslist and am talking to a couple of guys. we'll see if anything works out because it is craigslist after all.
i still haven't found a job to get me out of the classroom, but i'm hopeful. i am still looking everyday at job sites and colleges. i even made an appointment with jewish family services because they offer employment help. i really don't want to go back to teaching in the fall. we will see what happens though. i may be stuck.
sorry for the long post, but it's been a while and i had a lot to say...
