my nite out

well tonite i went to my first 8 Friends Out event. it was fun! very laid back! let me tell you how the evening went.

i changed clothes 3 times before deciding on something. i didn't want to be too over dressed and i wanted to be comfortable. i left my house at about 5:40. it didn't start until 6:30, but la griglia is off west grey so i didn't know how long it would take me. turns out, it didn't take me long. i was there by 6:05. i decided to walk around chico's and look at clothes. i found a pair of pants i liked, but i didn't purchase anything. i'm also really excited because purple seems to be the new fall color! :)

anyway...

i walked over to the restaurant at about 6:25. i was the first one there from 8 Friends Out. so i sat at the bar and had some water. a little while later a lady came up to me and introduced herself as being the host for our dinner. i moved and sat with her and another member (a man). we made small talk.

slowly more people started to arrive. this guy named cam (short for cameron) caught my eye. lucky me! we ended up sitting next to each other at dinner. the host sat at our table along with another woman and two men. we ate delicious food and talked about all sorts of things. it was nice to be out enjoying companionship. cam and i talked a lot at dinner. just "get to know you" type things like job, kids, college, etc. it was nice conversation.

when it was time for dessert the host had the men switch tables so we got to visit with the other two men that were there. they didn't seem as interesting as the other two men we had dinner with, but it wasn't too bad.

we talked about next week's event that i'm signed up to go to. a few of the others are signed up too. then i left.

it really was a nice evening. i made a new female friend (susan) who is a little older than me and an attorney. i met another girl (jeni) who just moved here from manhattan who i would like to get to know. she seemed really cool. and i met a guy who i can see potential with. when i say potential, i mean i would like to get to know him better and see what happens.
