sigh...

i meant to post this last night, but i fell asleep in alex's room for about thirty minutes then woke up and went right to my bed and went to sleep.

i lost out on the mentoring job opportunity that i wrote about last time. i couldn't get in there this week for an interview and they wanted to see me by today. i explained that work at my part-time job didn't allow me to make it, but that I could be there first thing monday morning. i guess to them, this just looks like i'm not dependable. but that really isn't the case. i'm very dependable. but i also stick to commitments i already have. i was scheduled to work wednesday and today. thursday i had to take alex to a doctor appointment that we've had scheduled for a couple of weeks. it just wasn't doable this week. i'm upset that i miss out on the interview. i'm not in a position to miss out on any job opportunities at this point.

on a more positive note, i have two other interviews scheduled next week. one is on monday and it at medvance, which is a medical college. it's for an admissions representative. i think it has a lot to do with sales, but i'm going to go check it out. then on wednesday i have an interview with WITS (writers in the schools). this is a neat program where i writer goes into classrooms and work with students on writing as an additional support to the teacher. i had a WITS writer in my classroom last year and i really enjoyed it from the teacher perspective. it's only a part-time job, but i'm flattered i got called for an interview since i haven't been published before.

i have a couple of other leads on jobs that i'm going to apply for. hopefully something will come together soon!
