i wanted to cook a romantic dinner for valentine's day. i turned to the internet for "advice". i googled romantic dinners for two and got a ton of sites. i chose a chicken and pasta recipe thinking that i couldn't go wrong with chicken and pasta.
so last night i cooked the dish. the sauce for the chicken had white wine, italian seasoning, butter, cream cheese (with chives), and golden mushroom soup. i heated all the ingredients on the stove and then put in a baking dish with the chicken. when the chicken was about done i boiled the pasta. i had dinner on the table when brett got home--which he liked :)--and we sat down to eat. i do have to say, it came out great. we both ate it up. the sauce was delcious!
i don't normally venture out and try new things, especially recipes, but i'm glad i did.
so, on a similar note, brett tried a new breakfast recipe this morning. his results weren't so great. he took bisquits, eggs, bacon, and cheese and combined it all in a muffin tin for 15 minutes. it may sound weird to you, but it sounded great to me and it looked good in its raw form. too bad it mostly stayed in its raw form. in one of the bisquits the egg didn't cook all the way. in the other 4 the egg exploded out of the top, but at least it was cooked all the way. the major problem was the bottom layer of bisquits--they stayed raw and mushy. the top bisquit cooked beautifully. it even smelled great. it just didn't work out...
but being the man that he is, he didn't throw in the towel. he said that he was going to try it again--experiement with it--until he figures it out. me? well i woulda given up on my first attempt. i'm just not one for experimenting with food.
