well i decided yesterday to attempt NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) again. i started last year, but didn't make it very far. the challenge is to write a novel (50,000 words) in 30 days. last year i had a good story idea and good characters, but was unable to write for a couple of days due to a minor surgery. i shouldn't have let this stop me, but i lost momentum. this time there are no surgeries. the way i look at it that means there aren't any good excuses not to do it.
i have come up with a concept and a title. i'm doing a little research. i'm not allowed to actually write anything until the start on november 1st so i'm spending the days leading up to it making notes and sorting out my thoughts.

with NaNoWriMo starting on Tuesday i may become absent from this blog. i really need to discipline myself and write in my free time. i will do an edition of "sunday randoms" this week and include some halloween pics, but i may not do sunday randoms for the month of november. i will try to check in here from time to time, but like i said above, checkout my writing blog to track my progress.
